The writer is clearly interested in womens history and she regularly puts in passages about womens stories, which is ok, but sometimes feels a bit unnecessary. She glaringly under-discusses the clash between Catholic Europeans and the Ottoman Turks throughout the critical 16th Century; misrepresenting the Holy Roman Empire, the Habsburg dynasty, the Iberian expansion and the mapping of the globe.
